Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
The disciplinary committee of the Jharkhand unit of the Congress party on Sunday night suspended four of its leaders for six years for anti-party activities.
In a statement, the party said Congress leaders Aloke Dubey, Rajesh Gupta, Kishore Shahdeo and Sadhu Charan Gope have been suspended for six years with immediate effect.
Dubey, Gupta and Shahdeo were seen in the party as loyal to Rameshwar Oraon, the party's former state president, who is also the incumbent finance minister in the Hemant Soren alliance government.
Late last year, the disciplinary committee issued show-cause notices to four leaders for their anti-party activities, which included publicly undermining the leadership of current state president Rajesh Thakur and seeking to oust him from the AICC leadership.
